CONGRATULATIONS on being selected for FUlbright in Andalucía in 2017-2018!
Let us be the first to welcome you to this beautiful region, and to this amazing program! There is a wealth of art and architecture in Andalucía dating from its time as an important Roman center to its years under Moorish rule to the era in which it served as the anchor of colonial trade with the Americas. Much of what the world views as quintessentially Spanish - from bullfighting to flamenco music - is largely Andalusian in origin. As any parish procession will demonstrate, it is also a region in which a strong sense of community pride exists at the neighborhood level. It is also quite cosmopolitan, as a rather international demographic regularly gets together in the larger cities.
There is certainly something for everyone! We hope you are ready to embark on this special journey, and we're here to help you as you begin an experience of a lifetime in Andalucía. Please also take a look at the general Fulbright Spain Predeparture Guide for important general information from the Fulbright Spain Commission on visas, transitioning to life in Spain, etc.!
